I firmly believe in the wonder of play, as it fosters imagination and creativity. It is through play that children learn from active exploration in a structured indoor and outdoor learning environment. However, as a teacher, I also respect our current education system, where children need to exhibit an increased readiness to enter kindergarten. Our program offers an active approach to learning through the use of independent center learning and teacher mediated instruction.  Children are able to experience a wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities for their abilities including math, science, language, the arts, socialization, and other Kindergarten readiness skills.  Each week we will explore a new letter and appropriate theme.  At Butterfly Garden Preschool, play is honored while children also receive lessons in skill building along with learning.
